Gita Kalmet – Newly Appointed Estonian Ambassador to Canada

Gita Kalmet

The newly appointed Estonian Ambassador to Canada (as of August 2013), Gita Kalmet (Ränk), was born in Tallinn, Estonia on November 29, 1959. In 1984 she graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatoire (Drama Dept.) and in 1993 from the Estonian School of Diplomacy (International Relations). In 1996 she completed her studies in the Foreighn Service Programme at Oxford University in England.

She has worked as an actress for the Rakvere City Theatre and more recently as the Second Secretary, Estonian Embassy in Paris (1999-2002), Desk Officer for NATO, Political Dept. (2002-2003), Ambassador of Estonia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands (as of August 2006), and Director General, Public Diplomacy Dept., Estonian MFA, (as of August 2011).

She is married to the director/actor Madis Kalmet and they have two sons, Henrik and Karl-Andreas Kalmet, who work at the Tallinn City Theatre.

Gita Kalmet – Uus Eesti Suursaadik Kanadas

Gita Kalmet

Gita Kalmet (Ränk), Eesti uus suursaadik kanadas, on sündinud 29. novembril 1959 Tallinnas, on Eesti diplomaat ja endine näitleja.


Gita Kalmet lõpetas 1984. aastal Tallinna Riikliku Konservatooriumi lavakunstikateedri ja õppis edasi Eesti Diplomaatide Koolis ja Oxfordi Ülikoolis. Alates 1993. aastast töötab ta Eesti välisministeeriumis. Aastatel 1999–2002 töötas ta Eesti saatkonnas Pariisis, 2006–2011 oli Eesti suursaadik Hollandis. Ta on ka Eesti alaline esindaja Keemiarelvade Keelustamise Organisatsiooni juures.


Tema abikaasa on lavastaja ja näitleja Madis Kalmet. Pojad Henrik ja Karl-Andreas Kalmet lõpetasid 2012. aastal EMTA lavakunstikooli ja töötavad Tallinna Linnateatris.

MES Lasteaed – Family Camp at Lättemäe

Great news! This year we are restoring a great tradition of the Family Camp at Lättemäe bringing families together to enjoy nature, fun and beautiful Lättemäe.

When: Saturday, June 22 through to Monday, June 24 (2 nights).

On Saturday we will join the Jaanipäev celebrations and camp overnight. Sunday will be fun filled for kids and adults alike with Lättemäe Olympics, a Treasure Hunt, Crafts, Singing, etc.

Your kids will get the opportunity to enjoy the nature and the experience together! Evenings will include campfires, marshmallows and more! Meals and fun will be provided – all we need is you!
