Estonian Language Classes

Live, From Estonia! — Estonian for Beginners Language Course

The Montreal Estonian Society (MES) is sponsoring a new language course targeting those of you who are looking to take the first steps towards having a basic conversational level of Estonian. It is designed for people who range from never having spoken any Estonian to those who can speak some, or who have already taken an introductory course, but need to review the basics.

The course will be taught by an experienced and bilingual Estonian language teacher, directly from Estonia via Skype video conferencing. The students will meet together in the Estonian church hall in NDG for a two-hour class each Saturday. There will be 12 consecutive classes in this session. The teacher will assess the abilities of the students at the outset and adjust the content accordingly.

The course organizers from the MES are Tom Ventser and Monika Dumbrille. Sign up or get more information by contacting Tom at the email address provided below. Hurry — This initial class is limited to only 10 students!

MES Social Gathering A Success

Friday, January 15, 2010

The first MES social gathering/pub night of the new year was held at the Shaika Café near the Vendôme Métro in NDG. More than fifteen people, many first-timers, came out to meet fellow Estonians.

The consensus was that a similar event should be held on the first Friday of each month. Planning is already underway.

Keep an eye on the MES Website for further details. Younger Estonians living and studying in Montreal are especially welcome. Spread the word.

Õnnestunud MES-i koosviibimine

Reedel, 15. jaanuaril, 2010

Esimene MES-i koosviibimine/pubnight toimus Vendomi metrojaama läheduses asuvas Shaika kohvikus.

Eeltööd selleks on juba käigus.

Hoidke oma silm MES-i veebilehel, kus avaldame edasist teavet. Nooremad eestlased, kes õpivad ja elavad Montrealis, on eriti teretulnud. Levitage teadet je kutsuge ka teisi kaasa.

Riho Kruuv, Eesti Vabariigi asjur Kanadas, on Montrealis reedel, 15. jaanuaril 2010, kell 14:00 – 17:30 Montreali Jaani kiriku saalis.

Kontakt saatkonnas on Helen Naarits, tel. (613) 789-4222.

Palun tutvuge ka saatkonna koduleheküljega www.estemb.ca . Seal on saadaval blankette, mis on vajalikud erinevate konsulaartoimingute jaoks. Soovitav on need kodus enne ette valmistada, et kohapeal ajakulu vähendada.
